Take a Walk Down a Vampire-Filled Memory Lane with Our Top 50 True Blood Moments
13. Russell Edgington’s Lavish Life
The King of Mississippi leads a lavish life in Jackson. Denis O’Hare plays Russell with abandon, delivering sharp one liners while basking in the opulence and decadence of his kingdom. Russell has become incredibly ambitious in his old age, and he wants to overthrow Sophia Ann, the Queen of Louisiana. To do that, he must rely upon Bill’s help so that he has an operative on the inside. Russell also uses Bill’s maker, Lorena, as leverage to make Bill comply.
Russell’s equally opulent lover, Talbot, basks in his lifestyle. Russell knows that having a trusted loved one in his inner circles is critical to his success and happiness, even though Russell often has to pander to Talbot’s desires when things go wrong. (Like setting the rug on fire.) He wonders why Bill hasn’t made Sookie into a vampire, because that’s the only real way of saving her.
Later, Eric kills Talbot for his hand in Eric’s family’s murder some 1000 years in the past. A heartbroken Russell carries his dead lover’s remains in a glass jar.
