Star Wars on Netflix would be a dream come true for many fans. Here are five stories we want to see on the streaming service.
When Disney acquired Lucasfilm and began making new Star Wars films, fans began to lobby for a live-action Star Wars story to be done on Netflix. Since Disney owns Marvel, and since it began producing successful live-action series on Netflix, like Daredevil, Jessica Jone, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the upcoming The Defenders, it would make perfect sense to delve into that galaxy far, far away, to tell some of the more popular Star Wars stories.
For some time now, there has been a petition circulating the Star Wars fanbase that has picked up some major steam. The petition asks that Disney puts a live-action Star Wars story on Netflix, centered around The Old Republic era. The petition currently has 186,202 supporters, which is a massive number. With that in mind, our first choice for a Star Wars story on Netflix would be Star Wars: The Old Republic.
1. Star Wars: The Old Republic
Set thousands of years before the events of the current Star Wars timeline, The Old Republic is a rich and multilayered story, ripe for the telling. During this era, the Sith and the Jedi fought for control of the galaxy, and there were literally hundreds of thousands of Force users on both sides, Light and Dark.
There were also Mandalorians (the proud people Boba Fett comes from) fighting to carve their own mark on the galaxy, which resulted in the Mandalorian Wars. This story saw the rise of a Jedi Knight named Revan, and his friend, the Jedi Knight, Malak, who crushed the Mandalorians by using a death weapon called the Mass Shadow Generator.
The era of The Old Republic has been explored through video games, both console, and PC, but it needs to be told through live-action, and only Netflix could hold such a beast. Hopefully, we will see it, in the near future.

After Revan and Malak defeated the Mandalorians, they decided to explore the uncharted space past the Outer Rim. What the two Jedi Knights found there was a vast and alert Sith Empire. They were lured in by the call of the Dark Side and the Sith Emperor and turned to the Dark Side completely. Darth Revan and Darth Malak were born, and the Sith Emperor sent them back to the Jedi in order to eradicate them.
Revan was eventually redeemed, but Malak was not. To this day, Revan stands as one of only a select few Jedi who fell to the Dark Side, but then was redeemed by the Light side of the Force, and returned to his Jedi path.
Eventually, Revan decided to go back to find the Sith Emperor, in order to kill him so that the Sith would not attack the Republic again, but when he did, the Emperor was waiting. Revan was imprisoned, and the Sith Emperor siphoned Force energy from the Jedi who refused to turn back to the Dark.
The story of Revan is a rich and complex one and would be perfect for Netflix.

For sixteen long years, war spread throughout the Mandalorian planets. Being from a warrior culture, the Mandalorians have always used violence to settle their differences and choose new leaders. But, the Mandalorian Wars were something altogether different.
This would be an excellent Star Wars story to tell on Netflix. Why? Well, because not only did the Mandalorians go on a crusade to conquer and subjugate other planets, they also ran afoul of the Republic and its guardians, the Jedi.
The best way for Netflix to tackle this particular story is to have 12 episodes of the origins of the Mandalorians, showing their crusade, and in the last two episodes, show Revan joining the fray. That way, Netflix can segue into the next Star Wars story very easily, by going with a season dedicated to Revan and his battle with the Mandalorians.

1313 was a project started by the Maker himself, George Lucas. It was supposed to be a video game, and yet, once Disney acquired Lucasfilm, it got put on the back burner, and that is where it has been. However, 1313 would make an amazing Star Wars story on Netflix, because it explores the dark underbelly of Coruscant, a place only seen once in the Star Wars films, and a few times on the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
If you’re a fan of smugglers and renegade outlaws, as well as many, many bounty hunters, then 1313 is the story for you. This would make a great jumping off point for another Star Wars story — Boba Fett. We know where he came from, but we know very little about how he became the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy. 1313 could tell that story.

One of the biggest questions coming from Star Wars: The Force Awakens was, what happened to Luke Skywalker between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. We know we’ll find out more about him in The Last Jedi, but what if Netflix chose to explore his story from the moment he lit his father’s funeral pyre until Rey hands him the Skywalker familial lightsaber at the end of Episode VII, wouldn’t that be great?

I want to see Jedi Master Luke Skywalker helping to set the galaxy right again, after the fall of Emperor Palpatine. I want to see Luke search for Jedi and Sith artifacts so that he can better understand the ways of the Force. I want Force ghosts Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Yoda helping to guide his way.
But mostly, I want to see Luke establish a new Jedi Academy, and watch him teach a new generation of Force users the Jedi code. And then, I want to see an adolescent Ben Solo (Kylo Ren), get corrupted by Snoke, and pulled to the Dark Side of the Force, resulting in the destruction of Luke’s Jedi Academy.
That would be an amazing Star Wars story for Netflix to tell. But what about you? If you could have one Star Wars story told on Netflix, what would it be? Let’s discuss it in the comments below.
