Me, Myself, & I — F

This show isn’t actually as awful as people think, but it still flopped upon arrival. Met with mixed critical reviews, Me, Myself, & I suffered from weird casting decisions and a storyline that couldn’t hold up in the long term.

Telling the series from three different perspectives in time clearly has a time limit because all of the characters are getting older. While Bobby Moynihan and John Larroquette can play a wider variety of ages, Jack Dylan Grazer will inevitably hit puberty and need a recast. Would the show just continuously switch out the younger actors?

Viewers do not take kindly to recasts, especially when they fall in love with actors who play the characters. Not to mention it will confuse people who are jumping in midway through a series when kids are consistently changing.

Me, Myself, & I was already pulled from the schedule after the ratings continued to tank on a week to week basis. By October 30, the show was under four million viewers which isn’t great for a series in its first run. However, it’s probably better that the show gets the axe now rather than watch it lose gas over time.

At least Bobby Moynihan will have the opportunity to return to SNL considering the show just didn’t have enough story left to offer long term job security. It’s a shame his first big venture off the comedy show didn’t work out but he’s a talented actor and will have a better chance to shine on a different series.
