Is the Deadwood revival movie happening? Timothy Olyphant doesn’t think so.
Santa Clarita Diet’s Timothy Olyphant isn’t too enthusiastic that HBO will revive Deadwood into a movie. There have been rumors circulating on the project going forward, with the most recent news back in November.
The original cast included Fear The Walking Dead‘s Kim Dickens and W. Earl Brown. Series creator David Milch has been said to have finished a script which some of the cast and specifically, HBO were interested in.

Production was said to begin this year but not much news has been released in recent days. Given the cast involved in the original series, scheduling conflicts are a huge issue in going forward with the project.
Olyphant who played Sherriff Seth Bullock talked to E! about his thoughts on the revival:
"“I am hopeful… I’m a huge fan of David Milch. The man means the world to me. It’s one of the most amazing creative experiences I’ve ever been able to be apart of, and I’d love to be … you know when you do these things you really miss the people. It would just be a lovely excuse to get all those people back together…That being said, there’s no f***ing way it’s ever going to happen.”"
Despite his doubts, Olyphant said that if the project is to come to fruition he would play his part and agrees that there has been some progress in making it a reality.
EW reached out to HBO regarding the Deadwood revival and the network stated they are trying to bring the actors together and pending schedules, it is something they are determined to make work.
