Ryan Murphy looks ahead to his busy, busy future.
Ryan Murphy is a busy man. The understatement of the year, right? After wrapping up 9-1-1’s first season along with the second installment of American Crime Story, Murphy talked to The Hollywood Reporter about what’s next.
Originally, the third installment of American Crime Story was meant to focus on the infamous Monica Lewinsky scandal. However, Murphy has pulled the plug on this idea after having second thoughts — something he shared with Lewinsky herself during a party they were both at.
"“I told her, ‘Nobody should tell your story but you, and it’s kind of gross if they do.’ ‘If you want to produce it with me, I would love that; but you should be the producer and you should make all the goddamn money.'”"
So unless she takes on the role of a producer, it appears her story will not be Murphy’s focus for the series’ future. Currently, an installment focusing on Hurricane Katrina is already in the works.
It was meant to air before the Versace season but was not completed in time for production and airing.
Casting for the eighth season of American Horror Story has begun. Murphy hopes to confirm Joan Collins and is looking into bringing in Angelica Huston. Not much news has been announced on the Feud front.
Initially, it was announced that the second season would focus on Princess Diana and Prince Charles. Whether or not this will be Murphy’s focus for the second is yet to be seen.
