Downton Abbey fans, this is not a drill! The movie teaser has arrived–and it is everything you could have hoped for.
Downton Abbey is finally heading to the big screen, folks! It’s been rumored since the series ended in 2015, and was confirmed a little over a year ago. Now, production has ended and the film is prepping for its big theatrical release next year (eeep!). And better yet, a teaser trailer was dropped today and while it gives us nothing, it gives us everything.
After six amazing seasons, the beloved series will make its glorious return, and fans couldn’t be happier. In fact, it’s the fans that will truly appreciate the teaser trailer that doesn’t show much. The teaser takes us right back to the Highclere Castle, the servant’s quarters below, and the stunning exterior shot we all adored and loved.
We still have quite a bit of a wait ahead of us considering the movie doesn’t release until Sept. 20th of next year. But hey, we’ve waited so long, what’s another nine months? Original series creator Julian Fellowes wrote the script for the film and many of the original cast members (remember upstairs/downstairs?) will be returning.
