Live…Love…POSE! FX gives early season 3 renewal to Ryan Murphy’s critically acclaimed series.

Pose has taken the world by storm with just one season and one episode of season 2. Just last week, FX premiered season 2 of the Ryan Murphy series and already, Pose is getting another season. And words can’t express how happy I am as a Ryan Murphy fan and as a huge fan of the show.

For those who haven’t seen Pose yet, the series starts off in the 80s (and is inching into the 90s in season 2) and focuses on the New York underground ballroom scene. The series broke records long before it premiered its first season by having the largest transgender cast in series regular roles ever, and continues to push the envelope forward with its emphasis on social topics including the transgender community and the rise of HIV/AIDs in the 80s.

This is why it comes as no surprise that the series has already been renewed for a third season because of how quickly it garnered attention. According to Deadline, the season 2 premiere was their most-watched episode of the series, bringing in nearly 1.2 million viewers. If that number doesn’t impress you all, then I don’t know what will.

In fact, the season 2 premiere did so well that it outdid the series premiere from last year in terms of rating, following in the footsteps of shows like American Horror Story and Sons of Anarchy. The Chairman of FX Networks and Productions, John Landgraf, shared his excitement for the season 3 renewal following the announcement with some very kind words for all those involved:

"“Pose has elevated our culture and the TV landscape like few shows before it, and we are honored to partner with co-creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Steven Canals on a third season. Our thanks to the entire creative team, including Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Alexis Martin Woodall, Sherry Marsh, Janet Mock, Our Lady J, Erica Kay, the amazing cast and crew and everyone at Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions for this incredibly entertaining, enlightening and groundbreaking series.”"

Hear, hear, Mr. Landgraf, I am in 100% agreement with you.

The second season of Pose continues to tell the untold stories of the underground ballroom scene as it shifts the timeline into the early 90s when Madonna was all the hype and fashion was dramatically starting to change. The season also appears to be shedding more light on the HIV/AIDS crisis of the time and how it impacted this community.

If you have not watched this incredible series, then I urge you to check it out. It’s one of the most groundbreaking shows on right now, and with Ryan Murphy’s talents behind it, I promise there is no way you’ll waste your time.

Pose airs every Tuesday on FX at 10 PM EST!
