These are the 7 best anime on Netflix that everybody should watch.

It is not an arguable statement anymore. Anime has definitely become massively mainstream all around the world. What people generally used to refer to as childhood cartoons, or what used to just be a niche and hard to find content has now grown into something much much bigger, better, and reliable form of entertainment.

Back when I started watching anime, it was almost impossible to watch animes legally without buying them but now there are platforms like Crunchyroll, Funimation, and even Netflix’s anime library is massive. I mean ever since the quarantine started, I have watched awesome anime like Haikyuu!!, Bungo Stray Dogs, Mob Psycho 100, and Your Lie in April, all on Netflix.

Today, we are gonna take a look at 7 of the most exhilarating (yeah, I have been watching Dr. Stone too), thrilling, and simply just the best anime on Netflix.

7. Best anime on Netflix: One-Punch Man

I mean sure there have been some extremely bizarre take on the superhero genre but however ridiculous they are, nothing could ever match One Punch’s insanity.

A twenty-something college graduate, Saitama, rescues a butt-chinned kid from the murderous clutches of Crablante, a lobsterman. He then realizes his inner calling to save people and decides to become a hero, and abandons his search for a job. Saitama then trains till he goes bald because that’s the key to become the strongest man alive. Saitama can literally defeat anybody with just a single blow.

One of the funniest aspects of the show is the fact that Saitama never actually gave the test to become a hero and therefore was not acknowledged by the Hero Association for the majority of his career.

You might be wondering how is the show actually enjoyable if all the fights end with just one blow from Saitama, well don’t sweat about it since Saitama is always late to the party and there are tonnes of amazing side heroes like Saitama’s sidekick Genos, add that to the show’s spectacular animation and fight scenes thanks to Madhouse, and genuinely hilarious moments that will have you rolling on the floor, making One Punch, not just one of the best anime on Netflix but one of the best and whackiest superhero show you will ever watch.

6. Best anime on Netflix: Death Note

Death Note was my introduction to anime, and OH MY GOODNESS!!! It was an unforgettable experience. During the span of its 37 episodes, the show has more twists and turns than a Typhoon.

The show starts with the show’s protagonist, Light, a high school genius, stumbling upon a notebook that has the ability to kill people just by writing their names on it.

This anime gave us two of the best-written characters in all of anime. One of the very best things about this show is that the so-called protagonist of the anime is not your typical good guy, he is twisted, and is often regarded as the antagonist by many, but you will still find yourself rooting for him.

More from Animation

And that’s that but you will find yourself being totally in love with the actual antagonist of the show, L, the best detective in the world (also the second and third best detective in the world are just his aliases), even more.

Death Note is dubbed brilliantly in English as well, so if you are new to anime and don’t want to jump to subs just yet, you can always try that, although subs are always the best.

The show has an amazing opening, the rules of the Death Note are convoluted and amusing, and the psychological cat-and-mouse thriller between Light and L is not only super gripping but breathtaking. There are loads of “Does he know that I know that he knows?” situations and speculations in it and every single mind games between these two is just mindblowing. The take on shinigami, the literal god of death is really fascinating as well.

Even though the series struggles during its final arc, it still finishes on a very strong note and is not just one of the best anime of Netflix but has established itself as one of the most popular anime on the planet.

5. Best anime on Netflix: Hunter x Hunter

Okay, there are seriously tons of shows and anime out there which focus on a group of young people with supernatural abilities with a certain charm and intrigue to it.

But what separates Hunter x Hunter to all those other shows and establishes its supremacy as not just one of the best anime on Netflix’s library but as one of the best shounen out there is how the anime’s world is so beautifully crafted and how there is a certain level of unique depth to all the important characters be it the protagonists, side characters, and especially the antagonists, which really makes you emotionally invested on a whole new level.

The subplots are quite unique too and they add to the story and your enjoyment as a whole making the show’s world really feel alive like its been there for ages.

Hunter x Hunter follows Gon Freecss, in his journey to become a Hunter just like his dad. Gon is a lovable protagonist and his loyalty and dedication to his friends and allies, and his determination to see the best in everybody is what really drives the series.

At the heart of the series is the friendship between him and Killua, a young boy from a family of assassins, and their dynamic and relationship are inspiring to see as they go up against much deadlier and experienced villains together. You will see pure determination and resolve like never before that is likely to strike you right in the feels.

4. Best anime on Netflix: Haikyuu!!

There are lots of amazing sports anime out there, but there’s just something about Haikyuu!! that makes it so damn good. I mean I was never even interested in Volleyball but now somehow because of Haikyuu!!, it is like one of my favorite sports.

Like every other good shonen anime, Haikyuu!! too at its center has an amazing rivalry between two of its leads, Kageyama and Hinata. Although they accidentally end up on the same team, Karasuno, and eventually become partners and a formidable duo (also later on sparking gazillions of Kagehina Haikyuu!! fan-fictions), they never stop trying to be better than one another. To both of them, it’s their guiding force.

Everybody on Karasuno’s team is absolutely lovable and they all get their due screen time and go through loads of character development throughout the course of anime’s four seasons so far and that’s really impressive on its own but Haikyuu!! goes the extra mile to introduce a bunch of other characters from the opponents’ team and manages to give them all a beautiful and inspiring backstory that really humanizes the rivals and makes it super hard for you to even choose sides.

These supporting characters from other teams are what makes Haikyuu!!, Haikyuu!!.The show’s animation is beautiful, the openings are irresistible. And once you start watching it, you are sure to be hooked. Haikyuu!! is not just my favorite sports anime but has also become one of my favorite anime of all time and is easily one of the best anime on Netflix which is likely to change you for the better and you should go watch it right now.

3. Best anime on Netflix: Code Geass

Evil can arise from the best of the intentions. Code Geass presents us with a diverse set of conflicting morality and really makes us understand where everybody is coming from.

Lelouch would go to any lengths to destroy Britannia while Suzaku wanted to change things from inside without bloodshed, both of them start out with their noble goals only to be corrupted with evil within and outside, and what unfolds as they both take actions in order to make the world a gentler place is worth every single second of your time.

Also, Lelouch is by far the best protagonist I have seen in all of anime, he is an incredibly well-written character, he is handsome, has strong motivations, who goes through his fair share of grief and losses throughout the series, is an incredibly handsome fellow with a killer personality and extremely high intellect, also his philosophy, I mean the words that came out of his mouth were so thought-provoking that it will force you to think about everything for a while.

Code Geass really has everything, there is mecha action for fans of the genre, superpowers, the storytelling and plot development really keeps on getting better and better, there is a heavy emotional investment, there is also some great highschool stuff and it emphasizes the power of love, friendship, and one’s own ideologies.

Once the show hooks you in, it never lets you go. There are various mind games going on between the characters in the center, there are tonnes of really interesting well-developed side characters, the chemistry between C2 and Lelouch is off the charts and the show’s finale remains unmatched to the date.

It’s a masterpiece that left a deep and profound impact on me. Forget it being one of the best anime on Netflix, it is easily one of the very best shows ever made.

2. Best anime on Netflix: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is often regarded as the best anime of all time and rightfully so. The show follows the journey of Elric brothers in search of the Philosopher’s Stone, in hopes to restore their bodies, which were lost in an experiment gone wrong when they tried to use their alchemy skills to resurrect their late mother.

Fullmetal just about has everything, the show deals with death, grief, war, politics, racism with a refreshing set of eyes and perspective. Every character who is introduced to the forefront is intricately multi-layered and has their own conflicting ideologies and motivations. The pacing could not have been better. the show perfectly blends gorgeous action sequences with funny light-hearted humor alongside some really dark and emotional moments.

To simply put, the show will send chills down your spine, will have you rolling on the floor but will also make you cry like a baby.

The way the show portrays human nature and deals with it while subverting all sorts of cliches way ahead of its time is why the series continues to be a pillar among all of the anime even now. Also every single one of the openings for this show is just beautiful. It’s been like four years since I watched the show and I still often jam to those songs.

1. Best anime on Netflix: Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan is one of those animes that actually made anime mainstream. Back when the show came out in 2013, it was a huge cultural phenomenon, everybody even people who have never seen an anime were watching the show, now 59 episodes, and 7 years later as the series is soon about to start airing its final season.

I’d frankly say it is quite underrated, I mean don’t get me wrong, it’s still probably like the most-watched anime all around the world maybe alongside Demon Slayer but this show has reached its peak and has gotten just beyond amazing and peaked every level of epicness there is.

Attack on Titan is every bit of a masterpiece as Game of Thrones during its peak.

What started out as an anime about a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is fighting cannibalistic giants known as Titans with their extremely cool fighting gear has turned into possibly the most beautiful, humane and realistic anime of recent times all while maintaining the same level of intrigue, violence, jaw-drops, even more, fabulous action sequences, gorgeous visuals, and some of the best most interestingly layered characters of the modern age.

Attack on Titan is not just the best anime on Netflix, but after seeing Season 3 Part 2, I can safely say that it is the best show I have ever seen.

Also Levi is the GOAT and you all are not ready for the final season.

Have you seen Haikyuu!!, Death Note, or any of these anime? Which anime do you think is the best anime on Netflix right now? Comment below and let us know.
