How to Get Away with Murder recently wrapped its six-season run, but the show dominated Thursday nights on ABC for many years alongside other Shondaland hits like Grey’s Anatomy. Viola Davis is reason enough to watch the series, but its compelling and twisty plotlines are why you should stick around until the end.
Davis plays Annalise Keating, a law professor who teaches at a prestigious Philadelphia University. Throughout the first season, and eventually, the series, Annalise and five select students become part of a murder investigation. The series is currently available to stream on Netflix and Hulu.

Damages is an underrated legal thriller starring Rose Bryne and Glenn Close, which alone should be reason enough to watch. Currently, you can binge the series on Hulu. The series revolves around the ruthless lawyer Patty Hewes (Close) and her up-and-coming protégée, Ellen Parsons (Byrne).
The series has been praised for its professional and technical writing, along with its immersion into season-long cases. Plus, the complex relationship between Ellen and Patty is really great to watch unfold.
