12. Best Canadian shows: Departure

If you like conspiracy thrillers, then you won’t want to miss out on Departure. After Flight 716 goes missing while flying over the Atlantic Ocean, brilliant aviation investigator Kendra O’Malley (Archie Panjabi) is called in to investigate by her former boss and mentor at the Transport Safety and Investigations Bureau. A second series has not been officially confirmed yet but is reportedly in development.

Departure is now streaming on Peacock TV.

11. Best Canadian shows: Rookie Blue

Rookie Blue is a little bit like the currently airing ABC drama, The Rookie. But Rookie Blue is a Canadian police procedural that focuses on five young cops who dive straight into their first day on the job with one of the city’s most elite units.

Missy Peregrym stars as Andy McNally alongside her fellow rookies as they soon learn just how difficult and traumatic a day on the job can be. Rookie Blue was popular enough to earn a strong following in North America and was imported to ABC. It ran for six seasons and is still considered a favorite by many.

Rookie Blue is no longer streaming, at least not currently, but can be purchased through digital retailers like Amazon and iTunes.
