Here are six shows like The Flight Attendant to watch while you wait for the second season!

The Flight Attendant came to an explosive and exciting end last week on HBO Max, and now fans will have to wait until next year for new content. If you’re looking for something to fill the void, we’ve compiled a list of six binge-worthy shows like The Flight Attendant to keep you entertained for a while!

6. Shows like The Flight Attendant: In the Dark

In the Dark is a crime-drama that has aired on The CW for two seasons now and is renewed for a third season. The series revolves around Murphy, a blind woman who drifts through life in a haze of drunkenness and casual sex. But things take a drastic turn one night when Murphy goes for a walk with her guide dog Pretzel and stumbles across what she believes is the body of her friend, a teenage drug-dealer named Tyson.

But when the police arrive, the body is gone. Murphy resolves to figure out what happened to Tyson, even if it puts her directly in the crosshairs of serious danger. Like The Flight Attendant, In the Dark features a messy female protagonist, and it has a similar dark comedy vibe along with a great cast of side characters and a compelling central mystery.

In the Dark is now streaming on Netflix.

5. Shows like The Flight Attendant: Barry

Bill Hader stars as Barry Berkman, a former Marine who works as a hitman who aspires to be an actor in the critically-acclaimed HBO series, Barry. Dissatisfied with his life as a hitman, Barry discovers a group of acting hopefuls at a Los Angeles theater group and tries to follow his newfound dreams of becoming an actor. Unfortunately for Barry, giving up his murderous past won’t be easy.

Barry has aired two seasons so far, with a third underway. It has raked in numerous nominations and accolades throughout its short run, garnering 30 Primetime Emmy Awards thus far. If you liked the dark comedy in The Flight Attendant and how fast-paced each episode felt, then you’ll definitely like Barry, which is an easy show to binge in one sitting.

Barry is now streaming on HBO Max and HBO Now.

4. Shows like The Flight Attendant: The Undoing

The Undoing and The Flight Attendant were bound to draw comparisons because they both aired at the same time, both are twisty murder mysteries with complex female protagonists, both are based on a novel, and both shows come from HBO. But many critics and audiences felt that The Flight Attendant nailed its fun, sudsy, darkly comedic tone, while The Undoing unraveled by the end of Season 1 and delivered a crazy, ridiculous finale.

The best way to decide which show comes out on top (or maybe you’ll love them both!) is to watch both seasons and compare. The Undoing is a mystery series starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant in the leading roles. Based on the 2014 novel You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz, the story revolves around Kidman’s character, psychologist Grace Fraser, whose life begins unraveling when she discovers her husband might have facilitated a widespread disaster.

The Undoing is now streaming on HBO Max and HBO Now.

3. Shows like The Flight Attendant: Killing Eve

If you haven’t had the chance to watch Killing Eve yet, finishing The Flight Attendant should be all of the incentive you need. Starring Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh, Killing Eve is a British dark-comedy spy thriller with an addictive plot and compelling characters. The story begins with Eve Polastri (Oh), a member of MI5 who has grown bored of her work and is rather fascinated by female assassins and their specific killing methods.

She starts to investigate a witness she is handling and gets fired by MI5, only to be recruited by a secret division within MI6 to hunt an international assassin who calls herself Villanelle (Comer). Eve slowly becomes obsessed with Villanelle, and Villanelle is more than happy to reciprocate that obsession. As Eve and Villanelle become increasingly entangled, they start to lose track of their respective missions.

Killing Eve is now streaming on Hulu.

2. Shows like The Flight Attendant: Big Little Lies

Big Little Lies is another twisty murder mystery with several complicated female characters. It was also based on a single novel like The Flight Attendant. Both series have continued beyond the scope of the original novel. It’ll be interesting to see if The Flight Attendant‘s second season will be less divisive than Big Little Lies Season 2.

Starring Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Alexander Skarsgard, Zoe Kravitz, Laura Dern and Adam Scott, Big Little Lies sets up a murder on trivia night in the posh, beachside Monterey County in California. The story then rewinds, and the season slowly builds up to the trivia night when the murder occurs as fans try to figure out who died and how.

Big Little Lies is now streaming on HBO Max and HBO Now.

1. Shows like The Flight Attendant: Dead to Me

Perhaps the most similar show in tone, story and character is Dead to Me, the Netflix breakout starring Linda Cardellini and Christina Applegate. Renewed for a third and final season, you have plenty of time to catch up on the first two seasons before it ends.

The first season focuses on a blossoming relationship between the recently-widowed Jen (Applegate) and Judy (Cardellini). Judy and Jen initially meet at a grief support group where Jen is mourning her husband, who was killed suddenly by a hit-and-run driver, and Judy claims she’s mourning a fiancé that died of a heart attack. But both women are carrying dark secrets that slowly come out across an increasingly thrilling first and second season.

Dead to Me is now streaming on Netflix.
