It looks like fans are in for a brief time jump when The Walking Dead: Dead City airs. The Walking Dead spinoff featuring the Maggie and Negan team-up will air on June 18 at 10PM on AMC and AMC+.

In the official teaser trailer, which you can view below, it becomes clear that Hershel Rhee, Maggie’s son, is kidnapped and she’ll be needing Negan’s help to get him back. But Negan might be in some trouble of his own, as his face is seen on Wanted posters.

The walker apocalypse has never been kind to either character. Which is a shame considering The Walking Dead series finale has Maggie and Hershel Jr. living happily at the newly restored Hilltop and Negan seemingly goes on to be with his wife Annie and their soon-to-be-born child.

But it seems amongst the new cast of characters, is a slightly older Hershel Jr. who will now be played by Logan Kim. Over the weekend at WonderCon, Lauren Cohan who plays Maggie, had this to say about the situation with Maggie’s son.

What is going to happen in The Walking Dead: Dead City?

“We are a few years on [from The Walking Dead]. I don’t know how much I can say. He’s retrieved unlawfully by some people and kidnapped-ish, and I track these people as far as I can on my own, and that happens to be to New York City,”.

As for what has garnered Negan’s troubles once again, it sounds like a new character is chasing him for his past actions. Of course…

“Negan is a fugitive from New Babylon lawman Perlie Armstrong (Grey’s Anatomy’s Gaius Charles), a marshall seeking justice for the many crimes Negan committed as leader of the Saviors.” Negan can never escape his past can he?

Just how deep do both Maggie and Negan’s troubles go? How will this spinoff affect Daryl’s and the currently filming Rick and Michonne tale?

We’re betting on a lot more information once the official trailer drops.
