AMC offered a two-part Preacher Season 2 premiere, with the first episode taking place on Sunday night and the second during its regular air time on Monday nights.
After an entire season setting up the story of Jesse Custer and Genesis as well as the backstory of The Saint of Killers, things exploded right out of the gate in the first episode and this season looks to see The Saint of Killers hot on the trails of Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy. Here is a look at five questions coming out of the first two episodes of Preacher Season 2.
5. Does The Saint of Killers Have a Weakness?
In the Preacher comic books, the first time that Jesse comes face to face with The Saint of Killers, he orders him not to shoot and Genesis is able to stop the big man. However, as shown in the Preacher Season 2 premiere, Genesis has no effect on The Saint of Killers. This is smart, in a way, because it makes this big bad man more dangerous and forced Jesse to use his brains to get out of trouble rather than just using Genesis.
However, this also makes The Saint of Killers almost unstoppable. He is the Angel of Death and is immortal, invulnerable, has superhuman strength, and superhuman speed. He showed this in the premiere episodes as he soaked up bullets and just let them fall around while shooting his guns at blazing speeds. It is also interesting to see the first episode of the season premiere as his bullets caused bazooka sized holes. With an unstoppable cowboy after them, the stakes on Preacher just got blown into the sky.

4. What is going on with Tulip?
In the Preacher comics, Tulip was working as a hitwoman and screwed up, which is how she met Cassidy. Then, Jesse and Cassidy accompanied her to Dallas to take care of the people she was working for. However, things are a little different on the Preacher TV show. It appears that Tulip has a mysterious past that Jesse doesn’t know about in Louisiana with what sounds like an organized mob boss named Viktor.
That storyline started in the second episode of the Preacher Season 2 premiere when a thug named Gary saw Tulip in the casino that our heroes were staying at. Gary told her that Viktor was trying to get in touch with her and she needed to call him. When she refused, Gary attacked and tried to kill her, only for Tulip to take him down and finally have Cassidy eliminate the body. This looks to be a story that will start up in two weeks as episode four is actually titled, “Viktor.”

3. Where do Angels Go When They Die?
It was almost heartbreaking to see the angel Fiore in the Preacher Season 2 premiere. He has been living heartbroken since The Saint of Killers murdered his partner DeBlanc in the Season 1 finale. Fiore wants to die and tries to commit suicide, but as angels do, resurrected and returned instantly. However, when he kills himself in front of a lounge act in a casino and comes back to life, he becomes a celebrity and it becomes the hottest act in the casino.
However, there was a very sad moment where Cassidy and Fiore were finally connecting and Fiore said that no one knows where angels go when they finally die, meaning that they are from Heaven and don’t know what comes next for them. He also admitted that he is unhappy on Earth and wants out. At the end of the second episode of the season premiere, Fiore asks The Saint of Killers to murder him so that he can finally leave Earth, where he lives forever depressed and alone. The Saint of Killers agrees and ends Fiore’s story.

2. Wait, is that Adolf Hitler?
The next question is not about what we saw in the Preacher Season 2 premiere but what was shown in the previews for this upcoming season. First of all, there are scenes that show Eugene in Hell. This is interesting because it also shows Adolf Hitler, who appears to have some kind of leadership role in Hell, a very interesting idea. If The Saint of Killers lived in constant torment because of his murders, why does Adolf Hitler get to punish Arseface?
Second, Herr Starr is shown with his face to the camera for the first time in the preview and that is very exciting. The Saint of Killers is a dangerous man but Herr Starr is pure evil.

1. Where is God?
Of course, the biggest question of all is “where is God?” That isn’t a question that will be completely answered this season, as it is the theme for the entire series. However, we did speculate that we could see God sometime this season if they delve into Jesse’s past with his maternal grandmother.
They are playing a game here with God, who has been seen at a strip club in Texas, where Jesse learned that he was there for the jazz. That will lead Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy to New Orleans to see if God might have gone to the birthplace of jazz next. Of course, Louisiana is where Tulip’s past troubles occurred, Jesse’s grandma lives, and The Saint of Killers was told to go.
