4. Lizzie McGuire

What can we say about Lizzie McGuire?  We think everyone related to this show. It ran from 2001 – 2004 and starred Hilary Duff as Lizzie McGuire, Adam Lambert as Gordo, and Lalaine as Miranda Sanchez. The show followed these three best friends as they navigated life in school and the daily drama that goes along with it.

What made this show stand above the rest, were the animations added as Lizzie’s thoughts throughout each episode. We felt like we had the inside scoop as to what she was thinking. We know Disney + had a reboot in the works with Lizzie in her adult life, but they couldn’t come to an agreement on how this life should play out.

We think that they should stick to the reboot idea and agree that we want to see Lizzie in her authentic 20s trying to make things work in a big city. As the generation that originally loved Lizzie for her authentic teenage self, we want to relate to her again as her authentic 20-year-old self!

3. Life With Derek

Life with Derek ran from 2005 – 2009 on the Disney Channel. The show was centered around a mixed family of the Venturis and the MacDonalds, but mostly step-siblings Casey MacDonald, played by Ashley Leggat and Derek Venturi, played by Michael Seater.

These two would be constantly medalling in each other’s lives and getting their younger siblings on board to help them. This was a light hearted show that I think many people with siblings enjoyed watching.

We would love to see a reboot of this show with either new people and the same plot lines or with these same characters as grown ups and perhaps their own children going at it in school. We love a good sibling rivalry and would love to see it again.
