True Detective Season 2: When will new season premiere on HBO?

The first season of the hit HBO series True Detective is in the books but fans are still on the hook for more content. While we will be eventually seeing a Blu-Ray release of the show in the near future, fans want to new material and the wait will be excruciating.

Eventually the show will come back, but much like we have to do every year with Game of Thrones and like we used to have to do with Breaking Bad, the wait for new episodes of True Detective will drive us almost as mad as the characters in the show.

No official premiere date has been set by HBO, but we have a pretty good idea of when it will come back. It’s not an official return date, but it’s a safe bet to assume that iTrue Detective will be back with season two somewhere around the middle of January 2015.

Before the premiere date can be set, and before cameras can even begin to roll, a new cast needs to be put together to replace the exiting one from the first season. We know that Matthew McConaughey is gone and so too will most of the other cast members, but we won’t know until HBO makes an announcement.

Until then, we can just dream up detective pairings we want to see and look forward to what should deb a mid-January 2015 premiere date for the new season.
