Elisabeth Moss says she hasn’t been cast in True Detective
By Josh Hill
The second season of True Detective is right around the corner and that means that the unofficial official cast that has been talked about for weeks will either be confirmed by HBO or adjusted to what actually is reality when it comes to who is in and who is out of the cast.
As it stands now, no one has been cast but there may have been some backroom dealings that we’re not supposed to be privy to that ended up getting leaked prematurely. Elisabeth Moss is one of the actresses rumored for a role, although she’s not going to spill the beans on if she’s been cast or not.
According to an interview that USA Today did with Moss, the actress seemed a bit surprised that she’s been mentioned as having a role on True Detective as such a thing would be news to her.
"“I can’t even…it’s…you know… ” [Editor’s note: Moss starts smiling.] “Not in the way everyone is talking about, honestly. I had to ask my own people, ‘Have you not told me something?’ For me as an actor who’s been in this business for over 25 years, it’s so flattering to be associated with that show. (And) for anyone to think that I could be a part of that show.”"
Now, it’s very important to note the smile that USA Today goes out of their way to point out, as that could be an indicator that the lid is on the announcement that Moss has been cast and she has been given a gag order and told not to talk about it.
