We try to stay away from celebrity gossip here at HBO Binge, but even we have to admit sometimes there’s something that’s just too good not to comment on. Particularly if it’s directly related to HBO, which it is, in this case.
So let’s talk Lena Dunham, shall we? According to a report in In Touch magazine, Dunham played the diva during a recent press tour for Girls, insisting that HBO pay for a private jet and then reluctantly sharing it with Nikolaj Colster-Waldau of Game of Thrones. That sounds bad if true, and like the type of thing that someone presented as an “Everywoman” like Dunham wouldn’t do.
Fortunately, Gossip Cop says there’s no truth to that tale, citing a source close to Dunham saying that it’s completely false. Dueling sources! This is why TMZ got so big, I think.
This is all in good fun, but what isn’t as pleasant for HBO is the thought that Girls isn’t long for this world. Season 5 is set to debut on February 21, 2016, and while it hasn’t been confirmed yet, it’s expected that a sixth season will follow. That might be it, though, with Dunham suggesting that she’d like to move on after that.
Of course that was the old Dunham, the one we assume would be just fine flying first class and perhaps even chatting up another HBO talent if forced to share a private jet. Who knows what this more diva-like Dunham will do? Just kidding Gossip Cop, honest.
