How Long Can Guests Stay in Westworld?

The Man in Black has made it clear he plans on staying indefinitely, but there actually is an upper limit for most people.

Westworld is kind of like the opposite of Hotel California. You can’t just check out any time you like, and you definitely have to leave.

The reason we feel so confident saying that is the endlessly fascinating terms and conditions page on DiscoverWestworld.com. While not everything on it stood out immediately, some of the tidbits on that page are taking on additional importance as each new episode is aired.

One of those details is how long a guest can stay in Westworld. The obvious joke here is that the answer would be, “until you run out of money,” because it’s extremely expensive to visit. As in $40,000 a day at a minimum expensive.

If you actually attempt to book a stay through the website, you’ll find that your options range from one- to four-week stays. That is, it appears the longest most people can stay in Westworld on a single trip is 28 days (not counting your “decompression” days at the Mesa Gold once you leave the park).

It’s become pretty obvious that the Man in Black has no plans on sticking to that restriction, as he’s informed some of the hosts that he’s never going back. That could mean he thinks he’s going to die there or he just wants to hang around until he finds the center of the maze; either is equally likely at this point.

But whatever he’s up to, he’s not likely to leave at the end of four weeks. We’ve already seen that most of the rules don’t apply to him, as Ashley Stubbs has advised his employees that he gets “whatever he wants,” and episode 4 saw his request for a pyrotechnic effect get approved.

For the rest of us, four weeks in Westworld is all we get at a time. From what this writer has seen so far, even if you could afford to stay longer, that should be more than enough.
