31. Finding out Sam is a Shifter

There’s a murderer on the loose in Bon Temps. Again. And once again, Sookie is tied up trying to find the culprit. Terry and Andy spot Sam running naked through a field. Andy suspects that he was up to no good, but Terry waves it off and says it doesn’t matter. However, Sam’s suspicious activities are enough to gain attention from law enforcement as a possible suspect.

Sam needs an ally to help with his alibi, so he decides that he can share his secret with Sookie. The big reveal comes after Sookie gets home. She hears a noise and ends up hiding in her shower with a loofah for a weapon. She peeks out of the shower to see a dog sitting in her hallway. When she lowers her loofah, the dog morphs into a naked Sam.

Later, once she’s gotten over the shock of thing, Sam explains that he always knew he was different. He has to have another animal present to serve as a model, but he can take on any shape he wants, and the reason he was running naked is that he feels better after he spends some time in his animal form.
