11. Sookie Takes Care of Amnesiac Eric

The witch known as Marnie punishes Eric by taking away his memories. Sookie happens upon him one night on her way home, and she realizes something is very, very wrong with him. Gone is the proud and arrogant Eric. Now he’s sweet and kind and thankful for her help. He apologizes when his fangs pop out, and he wants nothing more than to cuddle with her at night so he isn’t alone.

Sookie can’t believe this transformation, and she has to be very careful when he asks if they were good friends when he had his memory. She tells him that she likes this new version of Eric and that she’s glad he found his way to her.

Eventually Sookie realizes that King Bill is looking for Eric because he broke the law in attacking Marnie, so Sookie has to hide Eric as best she can from her former lover. Once his memory is restored, Eric recalls the kindness Sookie showed him. Their relationship changes from that point forward.
