Westworld, Divorce, Insecure All Renewed By HBO

Rest easy Westworld fans, because HBO isn’t about to let the series end when season 1 finishes up in a few weeks.
Get ready to return to Westworld next year. And if you’re a fan of Divorce or Insecure, you’ve got more episodes of those series headed your way in 2017 as well.
As reported by Variety, HBO has renewed all three series for season 2, committing to 10 new episodes apiece. No changes are expected among the showrunners or main casts for any of the three shows.
Westworld has hit big for HBO in a way that other series it had high expectations for have been unable to pull off (R.I.P. Vinyl, for one). The Variety pieces notes that while live audiences have only been averaging around 1.5 million viewers, that number skyrockets to more than 11 million once repeats, streams and on-demand video is included.
Divorce and Insecure have been more modest successes, but they also cost much less to make and, presumably, for HBO to keep going. No season 2 premiere dates were mentioned, but that’s not unusual for HBO, and it would make sense for the series to return in late summer/early fall of 2017.
Network programming head Casey Bloys noted that Westworld fans and their constant theorizing have helped him try to figure out what is going on too — a nice aid to have in the wake of huge reveals like the one that happened this week in “Trompe L’Oiel.”
"“The level of detail that people devote to thinking about it is impressive.”"

That’s actually an understatement. And while it’s difficult right this second to imagine Westworld running five or six seasons at its current pace, at least its fans can be secure int he knowledge they will be able to keep pondering its many mysteries for at least 10 more episodes.
