5 burning questions for the Big Little Lies finale

One of the biggest questions in Biggest Little Lies, is: Who is Ziggy’s father? Ziggy’s mother, Jane, moved to Monterey to start over, and presumably to get away from the stigma of what happened to her on the night Ziggy was conceived.
Throughout episodes 1 – 6, we have seen an extremely tortured Jane relive the night she was raped by a faceless man she only knows as “Saxon Baker.” And, we see snippets of her trauma through her eyes while she is jogging, or sleeping, or retelling the tale to her friend, Madeline.
Madeline locates a man in San Luis Obispo named Saxon Banks, who she believes is Saxon Baker and tells Jane about him. Jane travels there and confronts the man, ultimately giving up and returning home, when she realizes it isn’t her attacker.
So, who is Ziggy’s father? And, will we ever find out? I believe the answer to this question is extremely important to the overall theme of Big Little Lies, and I think we indeed find out who raped Jane before the finale is through.
If the show wants to use the usual trope of picking someone the audience knows, then we have a few to choose from:
- Ed Mackenzie — Madeline’s Husband
- Perry Wright — Celeste’s Husband
- Nathan Carlson — Madeline’s ex-Husband
- Gordon Klein — Renata’s Husband
If I had to hazard a guess, I would go with Gordon Klein, as Jane and Renata have had the most beef with each other, and Gordon is the embodiment of rich entitled white guy. However, for now, I have no clue who it is, and I refuse to spoil myself by Googling it. (ha ha ha).
