In the season 7 finale, Maggie was able to rally the people of the Hilltop to come to the aid of the Alexandrians. However, she is technically not the leader, not yet. No, Gregory, that simpering lapdog is still the “leader” of the Hilltop.

In the comics, Gregory gets jealous of Maggie’s popularity among the Hilltop’s folk and he attempts to kill her. Maggie then has Gregory hanged for his crime and takes his former spot as leader, and leads the Hilltop.

Will it happen that way on the show? Honestly, I sure as heck hope so. I despise Gregory and would love nothing more than to see him swinging from the end of a rope. You go, Maggie, get your noose on.
