Colossal visual graphic charts every Game of Thrones death, reveals show’s most lethal character
By Corey Smith
Death is around every corner in Westeros, and one Game of Thrones superfan cataloged all 137 named character deaths. Seven blessings upon you ser.
Praise be to the Seven for Game of Thrones fan Luuk Van Hoomissen, who has collected the death of every single named character through the first six seasons in one wondrous graphic. Look at this masterpiece and tremble. Who knew data could be this much fun?
The data is based off named character deaths, so, unfortunately, no one counted those Baratheon sailors at the Battle of Blackwater or those poor wildlings who tried to climb the Wall at the Battle of Castle Black only to find the Night’s Watch hid a giant scythe under the ice. Sorry guys.
The main graphic tracks each murder by house or faction, and connects to the corresponding house or faction of which the victim belonged. It’s a tangled web of interconnected mayhem that visually illustrates just how much death is being dealt out among our favorite houses. Pouring over the data is more fun than looking at a map of death should be.

There are much more takeaways here though, and we barely know where to begin. For instance, most might guess someone like Joffrey Baratheon or Ramsay Bolton might be the show’s most lethal in terms of killing other named characters, but moody bad boy Jon Snow actually takes that prize having killed 11 named characters.
The most lethal house is a likely candidate, as House Lannister has knocked off a whopping 29 named characters. Hear me roar indeed. Beheading is the most popular way to go in Westeros, as 10 named characters have seen their heads roll in the first six seasons. Being stabbed repeatedly, cut down, having your throat slit and being burned alive with wildfire all racked up 8 deaths.

Which is the deadlier sex on Game of Thrones? The men seem the more likely candidate, and indeed are responsible for 89 of the 137 named character deaths on the show. Not sure you should be so proud of that guys.
