Frank and Claire Underwood are back with a vengeance in the first trailer for House of Cards season 5 on Netflix.
House of Cards season 5 hits Netflix on May 30, and the first trailer for the new season just dropped. Frank and Claire Underwood seem to have the bumps in their marriage worked out (note: I said “seem to”) and are on the warpath to take the Whitehouse for a very long time. Here’s the trailer.
“One nation, Underwood.”
Nobody does sinister better that Kevin Spacey as Frank Underwood. It’s strange how much you don’t realize you need Frank’s voice in your life until he starts speaking…and then all bets are off.
"The American people don’t know what’s best for them…I do, I know exactly what they need. They’re like little children, Claire. We have to hold their sticky fingers and wipe their filthy mouths, teach them right from wrong, tell what to think and how to feel and what to want. They even need help writing their wildest dreams, crafting their worst fears. Lucky for them, they have me….they have you."
It appears, from the trailer, as if Frank has designs on retaining the Oval Office for himself, and then for Claire, should they win the 2016 Presidential Election. Perhaps it’s the fact that House of Cards season 5 will closely mirror the current political situation in America, but it just feels right to have the show return now, on May 30.
All the usual suspects are present in the trailer. The Conways, the younger versions of Frank and Claire, appear to directly stand in the Underwood’s path for ultimate power. And, it looks like this season might just be the most action packed and volatile one, yet.
House of Cards returns to Netflix for season 5 on May 30.
