5 things we learned from Marvel’s “The Defenders” trailer

3. Jessica Jones finds herself in hot water for a friend.

Fans of this sarcastic detective know that she will only put herself in a bad situation if someone close to her is involved. During the opening scene of the trailer, Jessica is getting interrogated by Harlem’s Misty Knight after being accused of interfering with a crime scene.

Looking at the folders dropped in front of her, the bottom one has the name Malcolm on it. Seem familiar? Malcolm is Jessica’s assistant, neighbor, and friend who she begrudgingly began to care for in her stand-alone show.

Considering Misty says that her top witness is dead and Jessica mumbles that she was only trying to help him, does that mean Malcolm will be the first of the supporting characters to bite the dust?
