5 Game of Thrones spinoffs we want HBO to make

4. The Adventures of Dunk and Egg
Fans are always complaining that George R.R. Martin writes slower than Daenerys’ plot in Meereen, but many do not realize just how much that man has written. Case in point, the Dunk and Egg novellas. The novellas follow the adventures and misadventures of a hedge knight Ser Duncan the Tall (a roaming knight) and his faithful squire, Aegon.
Aegon you say? Yes, Dunk’s squire is secretly a Targaryen prince. The series takes place roughly a hundred years before the current saga airing on HBO. The duo visits many of the Seven Kingdoms, and always seem to embroil themselves in some bit of trouble or the other. Their adventures range from the small (a border dispute between two houses) to the large (the Blackfyre Rebellions). There are three novellas currently written, and Martin has reportedly written parts of several more.
The series would have a bit more episodic feel to it, as the duo moves from location to location in the novellas, but it could be a welcome change of pace to watch something a bit smaller in scale. Lest you consider their actions have no consequences for the overall series, however, consider that Duncan is the ancestor of one of your favorite characters on Game of Thrones, and Egg is mentioned more than once by his brother, Maester Aemon.
