Star Wars on Netflix would be a dream come true for many fans. Here are five stories we want to see on the streaming service.

When Disney acquired Lucasfilm and began making new Star Wars films, fans began to lobby for a live-action Star Wars story to be done on Netflix. Since Disney owns Marvel, and since it began producing successful live-action series on Netflix, like Daredevil, Jessica Jone, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the upcoming The Defenders, it would make perfect sense to delve into that galaxy far, far away, to tell some of the more popular Star Wars stories.

For some time now, there has been a petition circulating the Star Wars fanbase that has picked up some major steam. The petition asks that Disney puts a live-action Star Wars story on Netflix, centered around The Old Republic era. The petition currently has 186,202 supporters, which is a massive number. With that in mind, our first choice for a Star Wars story on Netflix would be Star Wars: The Old Republic.

1. Star Wars: The Old Republic

Set thousands of years before the events of the current Star Wars timeline, The Old Republic is a rich and multilayered story, ripe for the telling. During this era, the Sith and the Jedi fought for control of the galaxy, and there were literally hundreds of thousands of Force users on both sides, Light and Dark.

There were also Mandalorians (the proud people Boba Fett comes from) fighting to carve their own mark on the galaxy, which resulted in the Mandalorian Wars. This story saw the rise of a Jedi Knight named Revan, and his friend, the Jedi Knight, Malak, who crushed the Mandalorians by using a death weapon called the Mass Shadow Generator.

The era of The Old Republic has been explored through video games, both console, and PC, but it needs to be told through live-action, and only Netflix could hold such a beast. Hopefully, we will see it, in the near future.
