Of course someone correctly predicted the Game of Thrones series finale

Game of Thrones is coming to an end soon, but someone has already correctly predicted how it’s going to end — you just need to find it.

Avoiding spoilers is one of the worst things about living in this digital golden era. The advancements in technology have made saving lives with medical science easier but those doctors brilliantly saving your lives are mere mortals when it comes to being at the mercy of spoilers on the internet.

Game of Thrones is perhaps the most popular show on television, and with that comes spoilers. Endless speculation always leads to the spoiler culture thriving, and unfortunately certain factions of the internet are hotbeds for information that will ruin future events for viewers who stumble upon them.

It’s the stumbling nature in which spoilers need to be discovered that acts as mild protection against reading something you don’t want to but that doesn’t mean they aren’t land mines waiting to be clicked on.

Thrones actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau recently gave an interview that confirmed the amount of spoilers floating around the internet is so massive that someone has already correctly predicted how the show will end.

“If you go online you can definitely read every plot point that’s going to happen,” Coster-Waldau says. “You can find the ending of Game of Thrones on the internet. It’s there. But you wouldn’t know. Of course, nobody really wants to know.”

This probably has more to do with the phenomenon of mass predicting events and then deleting the  incorrect predictions so that it appears you were dead on years before something happened. It still takes a certain amount of luck to hit it right — say predicting the Cubs would win the 2016 World Series in Game 7 in extra innings — but there’s a fraudulent aspect to it that needs acknowledging.

So while there are indeed spoilers out there that correctly predict the ending of Game of Thrones, chances are you won’t believe them until it actually happens — because how can we know how the show will end and if these predictions are accurate until we see it on the show?
