5. Sex is going to continue being important in regards to the old gods

Okay, we have to talk about this scene. After this week’s very revealing sex scene between Salim and his new Jinn friend which is now being dubbed as the most explicit gay sex scene ever, according to the Daily Beast. We have a feeling though that these racy scenes (looking at you Bilquis) are not just for the shock factor. We think that the old gods and sex are connected in a very ancient and important way.

If you look at the new gods like Media and Tech Boy, they are wrapped up in their technology much like how a good chunk of America is today. Technology has basically became a placeholder for sex for some people at this point, and that’s where the old gods have their advantage: no matter how many iPhones of flat screen TVs you have, sex will normally end up being the winner in the long run.
