Showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss are making Game of Thrones fans very, very happy with these exclusive new season 7 photos from Entertainment Weekly

The exciting new Game of Thrones photos reveal a lot more about the new season (compared to the first looks released a month ago) and we’re digging deeper into what these photos mean for Dany, Dragon, Jon Snow, Arya and more of our favorite characters.

Daenerys Targaryen and Drogon

Drogon must have had a great time traveling overseas with Dany eating everything in sight because he’s going to be huge in season 7. I mean, Dany traveled across the Narrow Sea to get to Westeros. Emphasis on narrow, so we have to wonder how did Drogon get so big so fast?

One of our theories is that it’s going to take Dany a lot longer to cross the Narrow Sea than expected. We know that this season’s going to feature a major naval battle involving Euron Greyjoy, his niece and nephew Theon and Yara and Dany’s new fleet that might result in Yara or Theon being captured. So can we expect some kinks in the road for Dany resulting in Drogon growing larger the longer it takes her to reach Westeros? Or is Drogon sudden growth a result of dragon biology?

Another takeaway from this photo is the action. We don’t normally get such action-packed shots, but here we are getting a battle scene with Dothraki fighting through the flames. It’s hard to tell where Dany is, but we know that she will be settling down in Dragonstone so there’s a good chance Dany is occupying the island the island the only way she knows how: fire and blood.

Season 7, Episode TK

Kit Harrington as Jon Snow

Newly crowned King of the North Jon Snow is looking pretty regal in this shot of season 7 riding a black horse through, what we are assuming, is Winterfell. Since Jon looks like he’s either setting off on a journey away from Winterfell or just arriving home, we can assume that Jon isn’t going to be just sitting on a throne. He’s going to be traveling and attempting to warn the rest of Westeros about the real threat they all face: the impending army of white walkers who are practically knocking on the Wall’s door.

Based on the photo we can also assume the message delivered by white raven at the end of last season to Sansa was correct that winter has come that Westeros is going to be snowier and colder than ever.
