5 things we learned from the Game of Thrones season 7 trailer

“I was born to rule the seven kingdoms…and
I will.”

Dany (Emilia Clarke) and her dragons have finally reached Westeros (from the trailer it looks like she’s landed on Dragonstone) after a long seven-season journey.

The big question? What in the seven hells happens next?

It’s one of the big mysteries of the next season: will Dany follow in her father, the Mad King’s footsteps and become just as thirsty for blood (and fire) like he did? It’s one of the things that multiple characters like Daario and Jorah have bought up to Dany throughout the series and now we will finally get to see how Dany is going to play the game of thrones: violently or peacefully? With bloodshed and fire or intellect and cunningness?

Based on the trailer, it looks like violence and war are in Dany’s future (she does have dragons after all), but it will certainly be interesting to see how she is going to take over Westeros without completely destroying with dragon fire in the process.

3. The last best hope against the coming storm

“Your father and brothers are gone and yet here you stand…”

Sansa (Sophie Turner), one of the characters we are most curious about in the new season seems to be in an interesting position of power we were not expecting her to be in.

We left off last season with Sansa finally getting ahead of the game after feeding her horrible husband Ramsey to his hounds, we all remember that little smirk walking away listening to Ramsey’s screams, but how is her newfound sense of power (and first taste of killing) going to affect her in the new season?

First off there’s her relationship with Littlefinger (aka. Creepyfinger). During the final “King of the North!” scene with Jon Snow (Kit Harington), last season, Littlefinger gave her a look that read: that could have been you, you’re the one with true Stark blood, not him!

So how will this affect Sansa’s relationship with Jon? From the look of it, Jon seems like be slamming Littlefinger into a wall during the trailer so I don’t think the two will be buddy-buddy come next season.

And who does Littlefinger think she is the last hope against the coming storm? Is he indicating to Sansa that Jon might play a part in the downfall of Winterfell because of his newfound power?

Whichever it may be, we hope that Sansa has a clear head this season and doesn’t let (yet another man) take advantage of her.
