42. Arkansas — Bronn
Bronn the sellsword, the Lannisters favorite enforcer is one of the more crafty characters we’ve met on Game of Thrones. Whether it was outsmarting more heavily armored opponents (Ser Vardis) or working his way up to command of the City Watch of King’s Landing, few characters have used their wits in both combat and politics as well as Bronn, son of you wouldn’t know him. With respect to Deadpool, Bronn is our favorite merc with a mouth, but what does that have to do with Arkansas?
Arkansas was formerly known as “The Land of Opportunity”, and we ask, is there any character more opportunistic than Bronn? When first we met him, Bronn was but a simple sellsword who quickly sold his room to Tyrion for much and more than he originally paid for it. And in the blink of the eye, Bronn found himself in the employ of Tyrion, which would eventually land him the command of King’s Landing’s Gold Cloaks. Throw in this mysterious woman with a huge castle Bronn is supposedly promised to, and you begin to see the pattern.
Bronn’s quick wit and glib tongue even have a place in Arkansas, as the state bird is none other than the mockingbird. That sounds exactly like Bronn, who was spent his six seasons on the show mocking everyone from his employers to his enemies. There you are Arkansas, Bronn is your man. Unless someone else pays him better.
