25. Delaware — Hodor
We’ve reached the halfway point on our list, and for this one, we have to issue an apology. We’re sorry Delaware. We’re not sorry for awarding you Hodor, a loyal and faithful servant of House Stark who gave his life to protect Bran and Meera. We’re sorry for the reasons we chose Hodor for Delaware. We hope you have the same massive heart as Hodor and can forgive us.
Hodor best represents Delaware because we just couldn’t find anything exciting about the state. Yes, it’s great that Delaware is the first state of the Union, and yes it’s great that Delaware was a large focus of the Revolutionary War. But just like Hodor’s admirable qualities, we just couldn’t find anything terribly exciting about you. And we tried. We tried very hard. On a list of fifty fun facts about Delaware, the best we could come up with was that Delaware shares a semi-circular border with Pennsylvania and that your official colors are colonial blue and buff. We didn’t even know buff was a color.
Talking about Delaware essentially boils down to the famous words of the character that best represents your state; Hodor. Or to put it another way.
Sorry, Delaware.
