Can a god be a good father? Mr. Wednesday thinks he can.

Mr. Wednesday on American Gods is probably the biggest and most important father on our list, as he is the Allfather, Oden. On the show, he is the father of [SPOILER] and has pushed, pulled and maneuvered his child into the position he needs them in, in order to win the war with the New Gods.

Made all the better by actor Ian McShane, Mr. Wednesday is a fun and interesting character. He walks through life using pure luck (or his godly powers) to get what he wants when he wants it. As Oden, Mr. Wednesday has many gods as his friends, and he visits them on the show American Gods, in order to enlist them in his war with the New Gods.

Mr. Wednesday makes our list because, without him, American Gods would be a flaccid and boring show. Every television show needs a hero and a villain, and Mr. Wednesday fills both those roles quite well.

Happy Father’s Day, Mr. Wednesday, we will make a sacrifice in your honor (not really).
