5 WTF Moments from the new Game of Thrones trailer

3. Beric Dondarrion is a Jedi
Look, this might not end up being the most important moment from the trailer as it pertains to the plot of season 7, but man if we didn’t get goosebumps when Beric Dondarrion ignited his sword just like a damn lightsaber, it ranks up there with the coolest moments of Game of Thrones and we technically haven’t even seen it yet. Seriously, open up Google, and find your nearest cardiologist if your heart didn’t start racing when you saw it because you need to have yourself checked out.
We have actually seen Beric perform this trick once before, back in season 3. Shortly before his duel with the Hound, Beric seemingly cuts himself with his own sword and then uses his blood to ignite the blade. Here though, it looks Beric simply hits a switch on his sword and boom, fire. By now, there are 324,673 GIFs of Beric igniting a lightsaber. We don’t typically get moments like this on Game of Thrones, it’s more of a slow burn type of show, so perhaps that’s what made this moment even more awesome.
Beric’s look of grim determination doesn’t exactly bode well for his future, but if you’re going to go down, might as well go down swinging a flaming sword? Am I right?
