Netflix is full of impressive original television series that it’s hard to narrow it down to only five terrific shows. There’s an argument to be made for almost every show on the streaming service but sadly there could be only five.
5. Jessica Jones
All of the Netflix Marvel series have been impressive gritty adaptations of the characters but Jessica Jones stands out from the group. The noir detective show depicts a private investigator still reeling from past abuse that has left her traumatized.
When her attacker returns, she’s forced to confront her demons head-on to save a young girl that gets caught in his web. Krysten Ritter stares as the tough titular character and while Jessica might be a loner, her relationship with her foster-sister, Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor) is one of the bright spots in the show.
The fight scenes aren’t as polished as Daredevil but Jessica Jones offers an emotional story of being a victim of assault while juggling the noir-mystery.
