5 burning questions from the Game of Thrones SDCC trailer
2. Are Ellaria and Tyene Sand Euron’s gift to Cersei?
In the Game of Thrones season 7 premiere, “Dragonstone,” Euron Greyjoy promised Cersei he would return to King’s Landing with a gift. This was all in hopes that she would give him her hand in marriage, thus uniting House Greyjoy to House Lannister — and the Iron Throne — through their union.
It’s no secret that Cersei and Ellaria Sand hate each other. In fact, it was Ellaria who kissed Cersei’s daughter, Myrcella, on the lips while wearing poisoned lipstick in season 5, thus killing her horribly. And, Ellaria hates anyone in House Lannister, as she still blames them for the death of her paramour, Oberyn Martell.
If you look closely at the above shot, in the bottom right corner, you will see Ellaria and Tyene Sand’s heads. It does appear as if Euron has captured them, paraded them through the streets of King’s Landing, and offered them as a gift to Cersei, to let her do with as she pleased.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say Cersei has some horrific plans for the two Sand Snakes she is now in possession of.
