A big complaint among fans of superhero shows nowadays is that they focus too much on romance. For those people who would rather watch Superman save the day rather than the girl, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman is not the show for you. Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher star as the infamous couple who stoles the hearts of millions of viewers.

A winning combo, the first season was both a critical and ratings hit for the network. Despite multiple casting changes in season two, like switching out Michael Landes for Justin Whalin in the role of Jimmy Olsen, turning John Shea as Lex Luthor into a guest role, and dropping the character of Cat Grant (Tracy Scoggins), the series could not be stopped and the ratings only continued to increase. By season four, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman was averaging around fifteen million viewers per episode.

While focusing on the romantic side of the relationship of Lois and Clark, may not jibe well with viewers nowadays but there is no denying that it captivated audiences back in the day. One of the most iconic couples of all time, Teri Hatcher, and Dean Cain will forever be immortalized as one of the best looking versions of these characters.

In fact, the two became so popular that DC Comics gave the show its own comic book line and many authors wrote popular selling books that continued the theme of focusing on the romance rather than the superhero antics.
