17. Vampire Chronicles
Paramount TV announced in April that they will bring Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles to the small screen and it is about time. While there is no word yet on where it might end up, when it might premiere, or even if a pilot is needed to move forward, but this is something that has been a long time coming.
There have been a ton of vampire stories hitting television over the years, from the great series like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel to the premium efforts like True Blood and more mainstream fare like The Vampire Diaries.
However, when it comes to the top of the mountain, True Blood and shows of that ilk owe their entire existence to Anne Rice and her Vampire Chronicles. The stories feature a rich array of characters including the arrogant Lestat, tortured Louis, and beautiful Armand.
Interview with a Vampire was a great movie based on the novels while Queen of the Damned was a huge disappointment as the follow-up movie.
With the TV show, it seems Anne Rice has given her blessing and her son Christopher Rice is set to write the series. This is very exciting and hopefully, it will come to fruition.
