We’ve seen the mountain shaped like an arrowhead from The Hound’s vision once before
Jon Snow and his group are headed toward a mountain that looks like an arrowhead in the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones season 7, and we’ve seen that mountain before.
In the Game of Thrones season 7 premiere, The Hound is told to look into the flames by Thoros of Myr. After a few moments, and several questions of “What do you see?” later, The Hound has a vision:
"Ice. A wall of ice. The Wall. It’s where the Wall meets the sea. There’s a castle there. There’s a mountain. Looks like an arrowhead. The dead are marching past. Thousands of them."
The vision was all doom and gloom, especially the marching dead part, but what everyone seems to have glossed over, is the fact that we have actually seen the mountain that looks like an arrowhead on the show before, and it appeared as recently as season 6.
In Episode 605, Bran is shown a vision of how the Children of the Forest created the first White Walker, in that scene, we get our first look at “Arrowhead” mountain.
As the Children of the Forest gather over the weapon they are about to plunge into the first White Walker’s chest, a mountain can be seen behind them, in the distance.
That mountain can also be seen in the preview for Episode 706, as The Hound and Thoros look on.
While yes, our unlikely heroes are looking at the other side of the mountain shaped like an arrowhead, this certainly seems to be the same one used to shelter the valley where the Children of the Forest lived.

If the Night King uses that valley as his base of operations, then Jon and his group are in for more trouble than they could possibly imagine…and I’m sure they’ve imagined a lot.
