Game of Thrones episode 706, “Beyond the Wall,” saw Thoros of Myr face down an undead polar bear.

A bear there was, an undead bear! All dead and rotten, and barely covered with hair...

When The Hound told Beric Dondarrion and Thoros of Myr his vision was of the army of the Night King marching toward Eastwatch-by-the-Sea, I wonder if any of them considered the fact that they would come face to face with a massive rotting undead polar bear. Well, it happened, and Thoros — the Red Priest — was the unlucky recipient of that bear’s rage.

Yeah, it doesn’t look like Thoros is going to survive much longer after that vicious mauling. But, there’s Thoros, just having good old Beric cauterizing the wounds with his lightsaber-like flaming sword. Maybe rub a little tussin on it, Thoros, you’ll be okay I’m sure.

Thankfully, Thoros had plenty of booze on hand to dull the pain, though, judging from the screams he probably needed something much more powerful. Honestly, how in the heck is Thoros even walking around after that? At this point, he’s got to be going on the power of alcohol and the strength of his topknot alone.

Of course, a wight polar bear isn’t an undead giant…I mean, it would have been nice to see those huge bastards make an appearance in the attack, but a zombie bear is still just as terrifying. Now, all we need is a zombie maiden fair.
