There’s someone very important missing from the Game of Thrones season 7 finale photos

HBO has released a plethora of all-new official photos ahead of the Game of Thrones season 7 finale, “The Dragon and the Wolf,” and we’re taking a deep-dive into them all to see what we can discern.

Can you feel that? That soul-crushing sadness that only comes once a year when the Game of Thrones finale is upon us, is like nothing we’ve ever experienced. And once again, we find ourselves sinking into the television abyss of reruns and fall television that simply cannot compare to the wonderful world of Westeros.

In that vein, HBO is making it harder to say goodbye to our favorite show, by releasing several new photos from episode 707 — the finale — “The Dragon and the Wolf.” We also have some from DNA India to add to the mix.

We also can’t help but notice Daenerys Targaryen is missing from both the preview trailer and this batch of new photos. What does Game of Thrones have in store for her? Probably another super-hero landing.

First up, Queen Cersei in all her glory. She doesn’t look too pleased to be looking at whomever or whatever she is looking at. The Mountain looms large behind her.

Here, she seems much happier, as she holds her pregnant belly.

Maybe Cersei is happy because she is talking to her brother/lover — Jaime.

Here’s Sansa, looking regal in the great hall of Winterfell. Let’s hope she and Arya have worked out their issues.

Here’s another of Sansa, hooded, looking out over the ramparts of Winterfell.

Staying in Winterfell, Bran looks a the fire in his chambers, where he’s spent most of the season.

Here’s another angel.

Back at King’s Landing, Jaime and Bronn watch Daenerys Targaryen’s Dothraki and Unsullied army approach.

They’re looking like they would rather be somewhere else, right about now.

Theon Greyjoy will get a chance to redeem himself in the finale, it appears.

And finally, Jon and a rather large contingent meet with Cersei and Jamie Lannister in the dragon pit in King’s Landing.

Here’s Jon and Tyrion facing off against Cersei and Jaime. This should be epic.

And here’s the Lannister twins looking back, smugly on Cersei’s part, I might add.

These photos are very neat and they paint an extremely intense story for the season 7 finale, but what they don’t show, however, is Daenerys Targaryen. Where is she? I guess we wait until Sunday to find out.
