Did Tormund die on the Game of Thrones season 7 finale?
Say it ain’t so, Tormund! Tonight’s Game of Thrones season 7 finale may have been the end for our favorite wildling!
Well, that’s what you do when you have an undead dragon…you melt the Wall with it. On tonight’s Game of Thrones season 7 finale Tormund Giantsbane prepared for the Night King’s army, and when it arrived, it seemed as if the magical spells woven into the Wall would once again protect the realm of the living.
Sadly, and apparently, the Wall wasn’t built to withstand dragonfire…or at least undead dragonfire. Let’s set the scene:
Tormund and his men pace the battlements of Eastwatch-by-the-Sea when suddenly the three-horn blast of White Walkers is sounded. Tormund anxiously looks on, and for the briefest of moments, it seems as if the Wall will repel the dead. But then…
…the Night King and Viserion appear and torch the Wall, causing a large chunk to dislodge and fall away. Soon, as Viserion continues to blast the Wall, Tormund orders the evacuation, but it’s not soon enough as we see many wildlings and men of the Night’s Watch fall from the top.
In awe, we watch helplessly as Viserion (that is still his name, I’m assuming) melts the Wall until a massive gap is opened and the army of the dead begins to pass through.

For now, it looks like Tormund is dead. It is possible he did make it out alive, because, of course, the wildling leader is made of far tougher stuff, and it’s going to take more than a dragon melting a Wall out from under him to end his life. Besides, he’s got giant beautiful blonde babies to make with Brienne.
