25. Gendry returns!

Jon meets with Daenerys after getting a letter from Bran, who had a vision of Nightwalkers at Eastwatch-by-the-sea. He pleads with Daenerys to help and asks what they’re going to do. Tyrion proposes that they bring a wight south to Kings Landing to show Cersei, to help get an army to help defeat the Night King.

Gendry is working at the same blacksmith shop he was when he left King’s Landing, saying it was the safest place since he’d never been found. When Davos tells him to bring some swords with him, he responds that he’s never learned how to fight, only bringing a hammer he made. Being Robert Baratheon’s illegitimate son, the hammer has half a stag carved into it. When Gendry returns to Dragonstone, he tells Jon of his heritage, that Robert Baratheon was his father. He wants to join the group going North.

Jorah, who had just returned from the Citadel, offers to go out beyond the wall and capture a wight. Daenerys tries to get Jon to stay by saying she did not permit him to leave, but he says that he is King in the North, and to trust him as he trusted her.

Tormund and the Brotherhood without Banners also agree to go, and with the seven of them: Jon, Jorah, Gendry, Tormound, the Hound, Thoros, and Beric, are all set to go North of the Wall.
