5. Ed Sheeran’s Cameo

This was probably the most talked about part of the first episode than anything else. Many people thought that it was too obvious casting, something that Game of Thrones didn’t need. And it’s true, for casting, they didn’t need Ed Sheeran to boost their ratings or get them back in front. They were already there. But people need to remember it’s not the first time they’ve done this. They often cast musicians and actors for cameos. It’s all part of the fun!

However, for some reason, maybe it’s the ginger hair, he just…didn’t fit in. It was kind of like a bunch of Lannisters getting a private concert by Ed Sheeran who happened to be dressed in Lannister clothes. He didn’t look to be part of the scene, and maybe that’s why people went against it.

Besides how horribly awkward Sheeran’s cameo was, there was also the part with Arya. She came and crashed the private concert, talking with the group. This is also the first time we see a partially unwinded Arya, who openly says she’s going to ‘kill the Queen’. They all laugh it off, and Ed Sheeran continues his set.
