Insecure season 2, episode 7 preview and synopsis for ‘Hella Disrespectful’
By Hector Cruz
Issa and Lawrence have a forced reunion in “Insecure” episode 7.
Insecure has continued to follow the sexual exploits of both Issa and Lawrence in its second season following their break up last season. They’ve included a threesome for Lawrence after he called it quits with bank teller Tasha, while Issa has developed a “hoetation” that includes former flame Daniel.
Though the pair have put each other in the rear view mirror for the most part after briefly considering rekindling their relationship, like most exes, they’ve still continued to keep tabs on each other via social media thanks to their mutual acquaintances. It’s that small group of friends that will cause the former couple to come face-to-face with one another for the first time since their brief and unexpected hook up in the season 2 premiere.

The penultimate episode of the comedy’s successful sophomore season will find Issa and Lawrence attending Derek and Tiffany’s dinner party where “tensions run high,” according to the episode synopsis for “Hella Disrespectful.” The full description reads:
"Tensions run high during Derek and Tiffany’s dinner party; Molly reconsiders her future after facing her romantic reality; Issa tries to make things right with Frieda."
The most recent episode of Insecure, aptly titled “Hella Blows,” found Issa attempting to be more sexual adventurous with Daniel, which literally blew up in her face, so to speak. Meanwhile, Lawrence continued to grow closer to co-worker Aparna, who was the only one willing to tell him the truth about his Woot Woot app that he had been developing for years.
A preview for episode 7 shows Issa recounting the incident with Daniel to Molly, who has a characteristically extreme reaction. Later, Issa and Lawrence both learn that they’ll be attending the same event, where Molly also has her own awkward encounter with Candice, the wife of her childhood friend, Dro, who she recently began sleeping with thanks to their alleged open marriage.
