American Horror Story: Cult Premiere Preview — “Election Night”
American Horror Story: Cult premieres tonight with episode 701, “Election Night.”
Rejoice AHS fans, your favorite syndicated horror show is back, and this time it seems to be taking aim at the world of polotics. And, according to The Hollywood Reporter, this season will not, in fact, be attacking President Donald Trump.
Showrunner Ryan Murphy cleared the air on what the seson will actually be about:
"It was never a “pro-Hillary, anti-Donald Trump conversation.” Instead, “it was really about trying to understand: Why are people voting for X or Y candidate? What are they feeling? Why are they feeling belittled or disenfranchised or upset with the patriarchal system?"
I’m not sure how terrifying a show about why people vote the way they do will be, but one thing we know for sure, one of the scariest clowns to ever haunt a television scree — Twisty the Clown — will be back for AHS Cult. That means celebrated actor John Carroll Lynch will return to the show as the terryfing clown.
Here’s the trailer for the season:
Yep, I’m sufficiently freaked out now. Won’t be watching this one with the lights off.
