The Return of Heath

On a minor note, expect the return of Heath. He has not been seen since the early attacks and just disappeared from the TV series. The reason has nothing to do with the TV show storyline. Actor Corey Hawkins was cast to play the lead in the TV show 24: Legacy. As a result, Heath has not been seen since the sixth episode of Season 7. However, 24: Legacy has been canceled so expect to see Heath return – even if just for a short time – in Season 8 of The Walking Dead.

That is not to say that Heath will play a major role or will even live long after he returns. However, he had a very interesting role in the comic books, as he lost a leg completely and then continued to fight alongside Rick and Alexandria as a battle-tested warrior. With Hawkins leaving the show for a different series, there might not be the willingness to make him an important character but it also might have raised his name value enough to make him a featured player during the Great War.
