The Walking Dead season 8 premiere is just around the corner and the cast and crew are talking it up.

When October 22 rolls around, and The Walking Dead returns to AMC for its eighth season, and its 100th episode, the cast and crew of the show think it will be bigger and better than ever before. Speaking to Rotten Tomatoes at the 2017 New York Comic Con, the stars of the show, as well as various directors and showrunners, revealed nine things fans should expect when season 8 hits the airwaves.

Of particular interest, is the feeling that season 8’s motto should be “Bigger and Better.” Actor Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) explained.

"It’s very ambitious. It’s great writing and great acting. Every single episode this season is full-on. It’s 100 miles an hour. All the things that you like, this whole seasons packed them all."

If the trailer shown at San Diego Comic-Con is any indication, Reedus could be doing more than talking the usual pre-season hyperbole. Producer Greg Nicotero talked about how he shot many of the scenes in season 8, and how they really tried to top what they’ve done in seasons past.

"We really tried to change up the style. We wanted it to be fresh. We had a lot of zoom lenses this year. And there’s not a tremendous number of crane shots. We wanted static, beautiful frames."

Nicotero went on to hit on a key point with fans, saying they didn’t want fans to “feel that the show is suffering from any fatigue.”

Hopefully, when The Walking Dead season 8 airs on October 22, we won’t see a repeat of the same old tired storytelling from season 7. We really want this season to be good.
